  I had asked Mr. Hale to come to my house for a consultation to take a look at several family pieces. I am about to move overseas, and wanted to make sure my valuables were properly insured. Mr. Hale was on time, very nice, and very candid about my pieces. He provided me with general age ranges of my furniture, which is extremely important to me for documenting from where in the family the pieces came. In addition, his knowledge and expertise in the realm of insurance allowed him to know which pieces were worth insuring, and which weren't. In the end, Mr. Hale was completely honest with me and--to his own detriment business-wise--informed me that none of my furniture was financially worth insuring. While all of the pieces are priceless and irreplaceable to me, he knew that the cost of paying for the appraisals as well as paying the extra premiums on insuring the pieces would not be worth it, were I to lose any of the pieces and get reimbursed for them. I cannot express how impressed I was with Mr. Hale's integrity and expertise. I would definitely use him again, and I will recommend him fully to anyone who wants an honest and knowledgeable appraisal. Thank you, Mr. Hale!

  Mr. Hale is very personable and very interested in many things inluding (but not limited to ) fine art, antique furniture, automobiles.... He was very thorough in his apraisals and enthusiastic about his work. I recommend him highly.

  Both of my parents passed away this past year at the age of 90 and I needed an estate appraiser to go through the many cherished heirlooms they had collected over the years. Steven called me back immediately and I was so impressed that he had already begun researching my family before we spoke. I was very impressed with his connections in the art world, since my parents had collected some artwork. I spoke to several other appraisers, but Steven stood out as one who was knowledgeable, credentialed, reasonable and connected. He was more than willing to drive the two hours to their home to meet me and spent many hours photographing and documenting their collection of art, books, silver, china, furniture, etc. We had over 200 pieces that needed to be priced. Steven was able to document all of it within a short period of time and priced them accurately for sale. My sister and I needed those prices in order to divide up the estate equitably. He was also honest about what items would realistically sell for. I trusted his opinion and assessment. After providing us with the figures, he was also able to get us offers on some of my parents' unique artwork and silver/gold coins. His knowledge and skill made a difficult process manageable, pleasant and stress free. I absolutely trust Steven and would hire him again in a heartbeat.
